چکیده

Reducing sugars produced from agro-industrial wastes by means of hydrolysis represent a promising alternative chemicals and energy. Yet, large scale production still struggles with several factors involving process complexity, degradation, corrosion, enzyme recyclability, economic feasibility. More recently, sub supercritical water has been reported for the reducing as readily available to acid enzymatic biomass hydrolysis. Accordingly, in this work, results batch semicontinuous lab subcritical experiments pea pot corn stover are discussed. Experiments were carried temperature range 250 300 °C, pressures up 3650 psi, residence times 30 minutes mode operation, or flowrates 12 mL/min operation. Produced assessed effluent each experimental run dinitrosalicilic method (DNS). A maximum total sugar (TRS) yield 21.8% was measured at 300°C, 15 minutes, 1:6 mass ratio. Semicontinuous showed TRS accumulated 19% 290 1500 flowrate 9 mL/min. The feasibility producing currently discarded through

Effect of acid hydrolysis and fungal biotreatment on agro-industrial wastes for obtainment of free sugars for bioethanol production

This study was designed to evaluate selected chemical and microbiological treatments for the conversion of certain local agro-industrial wastes (rice straw, corn stalks, sawdust, sugar beet waste and sugarcane bagasse) to ethanol. The chemical composition of these feedstocks was determined. Conversion of wastes to free sugars by acid hydrolysis varied from one treatment to another. In single-st...

Biotechnological Production of Xylitol from Agro-Industrial Wastes

Xylitol is a polyalcohol of five carbon atoms which is widely used in the food and chemical industry. Its interest is due to the sweetening power similar to that of sucrose. However, it has been shown that the use of xylitol as a sweetener is better due to its anticariogenecity, tooth rehardening and remineralization properties. It is suitable as sugar substitute for diabetics, and it limits th...

Valorization of agro-industrial wastes towards the production of rhamnolipids.

In this work, oil mill wastewater (OMW), a residue generated during olive oil extraction, was evaluated as an inducer of rhamnolipid production. Using a medium containing as sole ingredients corn steep liquor (10%, v/v), sugarcane molasses (10%, w/v) and OMW (25%, v/v), Pseudomonas aeruginosa #112 produced 4.5 and 5.1g of rhamnolipid per liter in flasks and reactor, respectively, with critical ...

Utilization of Agro-industrial Wastes for the Simultaneous Production of Amylase and Xylanase by Thermophilic Actinomycetes

Agro-industrial wastes such as sugarcane bagasse, wheat bran, rice bran, corn cob and wheat straw are cheapest and abundantly available natural carbon sources. The present study was aimed to production of amylase and xylanase simultaneously using agro-industrial waste as the sole carbon source. Seven thermophilic strains of actinomycete were isolated from the mushroom compost. Among of these, s...
